What to Expect

The first session is usually about getting to know you and talk about the issues that concern you. Often a goal is then set that may become a focus of subsequent sessions.

The number of sessions will vary depending on your needs. Some clients benefit from a couple of sessions while others may need 10-20 sessions. Sessions can be weekly or fortnightly or less frequent at a later stage of therapy.

Sessions are usually 50 minutes in duration.

We make sure that our clients have absolute privacy and confidentiality and any information will only be released with consent.

FAQ's

You do not need a referral to see a Psychologist and can ring up to book an appointment. However you cannot get a Medicare rebate without a GP referral.

You need a GP Mental Health Care Plan and a referral letter specifying the number of sessions your GP is referring you for (usually 6) to access the Medicare rebate. Individuals are entitled to up to 10 sessions per calendar year.
